ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Case Comprehensive Cancer Center at Case Western Reserve University invites applications to its 2-3 year postdoctoral training program. This NCI-funded program is designed to prepare fellows for careers as independent investigators engaged in research on behavioral aspects of cancer prevention, detection, and control, including cancer care communication and decision making, cancer survivor quality of life, health services research, and cancer preventive service delivery in primary care and community settings, including smoking cessation interventions and outcomes. An additional strong focus area is psychosocial and health services research on aging and cancer. The career development program offers the following:

  • A brief, intensive core curriculum of didactic seminars
  • An individualized longitudinal curriculum through relevant academic departments
  • Exposure to clinical oncology and basic cancer biology through didactic training and clinical rotations
  • Research experiences that expose fellows to a variety of research paradigms and disciplines
  • Multiple opportunities to conduct a mentored cancer prevention and control research project
