The shared resources of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center are specialized service facilities that support the cancer research efforts of our members. These shared resources are available also to other investigators in the affiliated institutions.

The shared resources are supported by the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) from the National Cancer Institute. Additional support may be provided from other sources, such as chargeback systems and institutional funding. The support from the CCSG allows the core facilities to provide benefits to Cancer Center members, such as ensured access to services.
Remember to acknowledge the valuable services provided by Cancer Center Core Facilities in your research papers and publications: "This research was supported by the [insert name] Core Facility of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (P30 CA43703)."
The CTC/CEC core has initiated several investigator-initiated pilot studies and has begun to see planning for those which will be externally funded. We continue to encourage you, however, to develop new ideas for exploring and validating this technology. In addition to quantitation of these rare circulating cells, we are also now ready to undertake isolation of macromolecules for analysis. The isolated preparations will be provided back to you for assessment of expression in your laboratory or that of a collaborator. These proposals should involve pilot studies for which technical feasibility and preliminary data needs to be established in order to lead to external funding and would normally be for evaluation of 10-20 samples. We will require the following information (limited to 1 page) for consideration for pilot studies:
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to discuss with John Pellecchia or Dr. Ernest Borden. Please submit your 1 page proposals to John Pellecchia at pellecj@ccf.org. Final approval to proceed with your pilot study will be granted by Dr. Ernest Borden and should normally be available within a week of submission.
