This core provides access to instrumentation to perform cell based assays and cell sorting. Trained users schedule time on instruments, then come to the facility and run their own samples. Core staff are on-site to help if difficulties arise. In special cases, samples can be run by Core staff by prior arrangement. The core operates on a cost recovery basis. Prior to access, users need to supply a valid account that will be charged at the end of the month of access.
Sometimes it is more expedient or necessary to use other available Cytometry and Microscopy cores. We fully support this and cooperate with facilities for cytometry - Center for AIDS Research, Infectious Diseases, LRI Flow Cytometry Core, and microscopy - Case SOM Neurosciences and the Lerner Research Institute.
First time access:
Contact Mike Sramkoski (rms19@case.edu). He will arrange orientation and training.
Experienced users:
Workflow begins by scheduling time on the appropriate instrument using an online scheduler (ca-mimi.case.edu); show up on time, then operate the instrument (run samples and acquire data). To contact Core staff with questions or as an alternative to the scheduler send an email to cytocore@gmail.com.
Please remember to acknowledge the valuable services provided by Cancer Center Core Facilities in your research papers and publications:
"This research was supported by the Cytometry & Imaging Microscopy Core Facility of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (P30 CA43703)."
