The Behavioral Measurement Core Facility (BMC) offers a full range of services to assist investigators interested in the use of rigorous, behavioral research methods for clinical, prevention and other cancer-related research. The BMC works with researchers at all stages of the research process to identify appropriate research strategies, implement behavioral data collection using custom-designed measurement tools or adapting existing measures of behavioral constructs to fit each investigator’s research question and unique hypotheses.
The BMC faculty and staff have extensive experience successfully designing research studies, administering surveys, conducting structured and semi-structured interviews, collecting observational data, facilitating focus groups, and performing sophisticated data analysis for quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods research studies. The BMC supports investigators by providing expert consultation during the conceptualization and planning of new studies, experienced project management and coordination of qualitative and quantitative data collection, and specialized analytic services for investigators with existing qualitative or quantitative datasets.
Behavioral Measurement Core Facility services provide value-adding expertise in behavioral measurement and project execution, allowing investigators to streamline complex research processes, reduce the turnaround time of new grant development, cost-effectively collect and analyze behavioral data, and disseminate methodologically-sound results.

The Behavioral Measurement Core Facility maintains a library of behavioral measures relevant for cancer research. These databases allow investigators to search for behavioral measures that may be suitable for their projects. The database provides information about the measure, key references, and copies the measure when available.
