Health Disparities Data Widget

The Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) and the Office of Minority Health (OMH) have announced the release of a new health disparities data widget. The widget provides an easy way to find health disparities data related to the Healthy People 2020 objectives for the Leading Health Indicators (LHIs). LHIs are critical health issues that when addressed will help reduce the leading causes of death and preventable illnesses.

The widget provides charts and graphs of disparities data at your fingertips. The widget data can be browsed by:

-- Disparity type—including disability, education, income, location, race and ethnicity, and sex; and

-- Leading Health Indicator.

This new tool will help to inform research community about issues related to health equity. Please checkout the widget on the Minority Accrual Committee page.

Cultural Inclusion and Awareness Series

The Case CCC Minority Accrual Committee (MAC) would like to introduce a new name, Cultural Inclusion and Awareness Series for the Cultural Competency Series.  The new name will allow the Committee to broaden the Series scope and post information which will have more research focus.

The MAC would like to initiate the retitled Series with the posting from the FDA Voice,  2/13/17, entitled “FDA Drug Trials Snapshots and Diversity When Testing New Drugs” by John J. Whyte, M.D., M.P.H., Director of Professional Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement at FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.
