You’re not alone. Everyone will be touched by cancer at some point. More than 13 million Americans are living with it by a recent National Cancer Institute estimate. In 2014 alone nearly 1.7 million new cancer cases will be identified. Statistics say one in every two men and one in every three women will develop cancer in their lifetime.
Fortunately, cancer rates have been dropping since 1998. And cancer survival is rising.
Members of Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, a consortium of Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals, and Cleveland Clinic, are working to further drop cancer rates, improve treatments and boost survival.
Partners in Clinical Care
Clinical care and service to cancer patients are provided through Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals Case Medical Center, the patient care components of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. Patients seeking treatment from a comprehensive cancer center have the benefit of access to a full range of services, from basic research information to advanced treatments and psychosocial and supportive care. Important aspects of this access include the opportunity to be part of clinical trials as well as being offered the latest cancer treatments.
