Awards of up to $50,000 for 1 year are available. Principal Investigators must be full-time members of the faculty at Case Western Reserve University or Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and members of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. Application Deadline: May 27 To view the RFA, please click here. RFA, Instructions and Cover Sheet are also available on the Cancer Center homepage. FUNDING OPPORTUNITY– Dana Foundation Brain and Immuno-Imaging Grant ProgramCWRU SOM has been invited to submit TWO applications (one per Track A and Track B) to the Dana Foundation Brain and Immuno-Imaging Grant Program- Round 2 2008 (Using Brain and Immune Imaging Innovations to Improve Human Health). The Dana Foundation supports research on imaging innovations that help reveal how the human brain functions normally, how disorders and injuries alter these functions, and how various therapies affect these conditions. Since immune cells are often integrally involved in the development of, protection against, or responses to brain diseases and injuries, funded research also can focus on immune cell interactions with brain cells. The Program is designed to enable investigators to obtain pilot data more quickly than is possible through other funding processes. Investigations must be applicable to human brain or brain-immune functioning or malfunctioning to be considered for funding. Internal Deadline: April 24 If you are interested in applying, the following documents required: For details including eligibility requirements, please click here. FUNDING OPPORTUNITY– TRECThe Case Center for Transdisciplinary Research on Energetics and Cancer and the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center invite investigators to submit developmental projects in the area of nutrition, energetics, energy balance, obesity, physical activity and cancer. These projects should provide an avenue for introducing and integrating new investigators and innovative technologies, methodologies, and/or research in the TREC infrastructure. Pilot projects can be funded though a maximum of $50,000 per year, direct cost and should be planned to lead to independent research funding preferably of the NIH R01 type. Please send original application via e-mail to lcc3@case.edu by Thursday, May 1. To view the RFA, please click here. To view the Application Facepage, please click here. MARK YOUR CALENDARS– Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy: Realizing the PromiseSeptember 11-12 The Center for Cancer Research (CCR) at the National Cancer Institute will be hosting a two-day, national symposium entitled Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy: Realizing the Promise. This meeting will host leaders in the field of cancer immunology and immunotherapy, include recent advances in both translational and clinical research, and should provide an exciting forum for discussion and debate on promising immunologic approaches to prevent and treat cancer. Registration is free, but seating is limited so be sure to register early! Abstracts are being accepted for the poster session. Deadline for abstract submission is July 15.
