CORRECTIONWe would like to follow-up on the new Glioblastoma vaccine that was discussed in last week's newsletter. We incorrectly identified Dr. Andrew Sloan as the lead investigator on the vaccine's clinical trial. Dr. Michael Vogelbaum of the Cleveland Clinic is actually the lead PI on this joint institutional trial, Phase II/III Study of CDX-110 in Patients With Newly Diagnosed GBM. We apologize for the error. FUNDING OPPORTUNITY–ONS FoundationThe Ohio Nursing Society (ONS) has released information about the 2008 ONS Foundation Breast Cancer Research Funding (RE28). A major goal of the ONS Foundation is to provide funding to support the ONS Research Agenda. The agenda's focus is on areas where gaps exist in the knowledge base for oncology nursing practice. Applications are invited for breast cancer grant proposals that address high-priority topic areas identified by the 2005-2009 ONS Research Agenda. Eligibility: The principal investigator must be actively involved in some aspect of cancer patient care, education, or research. Funding preference is given to projects that involve nurses in the design and conduct of the research activity. Membership in ONS is not required. To be considered for funding, the research team must include an advanced practice nurse or researcher. Letters of Intent Deadline: June 30 For more information, please click here.
