FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES/AWARDSLimited Submission: NIH Shared Instrumentation Grant ProgramThe Shared Instrumentation Grant (SIG) program provides a cost-effective mechanism for groups of NIH-supported investigators to obtain commercially-available equipment that costs more than $100,000. Instruments in this price range are typically too expensive to be obtained through a research project grant. The maximum SIG award is $600,000. Types of instruments supported include, but are not limited to, confocal and electron microscopes, biomedical imagers, mass spectrometers, DNA sequencers, biosensors, cell-sorters, X-ray diffraction systems, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectrometers among others. Each institution may submit ONE application per type of equipment. LOI Deadline: February 1 American Cancer Society IRG AwardsThe Case CCC, with funds from its American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant, will provide seed money to foster cancer research by junior faculty who have no current national grant support of their own. Investigators in the CWRU School of Medicine and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine as well as in other schools and colleges in the University are eligible. Grants, not to exceed $30,000, will be awarded to investigators who intend to gather preliminary data to be used in seeking future and independently funded programs.
