MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR– NIH DIRECTOR TESTIMONY RE: NIH BUDGET REQUESTThe testimony given by NIH Director Francis Collins supporting the NIH budget request for 2011 is available to read. The good news is a $1 billion request for increase in NIH support with an emphasis on RPG rather than contracts, and an interest in novel cutting edge research, approaches to personalized medicine, and use of genomics in therapeutics. It is a good read and gives an indication of the priorities Dr. Collins has.
