My research program has been focused on the structure and function of the inflammasomes in infectious diseases, autoimmune and autoinflammatory disorders, and cancer. Since moving to Case in 2014, I have established collaboration with Drs. John Letterio, Jason Sohn and Duncan Stearns to study the role of inflammasome suppression in alleviating neurocognitive deficit upon radiotherapy of pediatric brain tumor patients. I have also been working with Dr. Alex Huang to understand the role of integrins and their ligands during migration of tumor cells and immune cells in the setting of pediatric brain tumors. The above projects have either been formulated into an NCI grant or is being explored as a joint grant application. It is my belief that becoming a member of the Cancer Center and full integration of our research program will significantly benefit such efforts in tumor immuno-therapy.
