Nanomedicine is not just one more tool against diseases; it's an entire field. In conjunction with revolutions in genomics, proteomics, and cell biology, nanomedicine can push personalized therapies closer than ever before. To realize this vision, our research program takes an interdisciplinary approach to diagnostics and therapeutics. Specifically, the Laboratory for Nanomedical Engineering exploits the engineerability and multifunctionality of nanoparticles to develop imaging, therapeutic and theranostic agents based on the integration of nanotechnology with drug delivery, mathematical modeling and imaging to develop clinically-relevant personalized therapies.
