We are interested in studying the functions of non-coding genetic variants associated with human diseases, specifically breast cancer. We have previously developed a new tool using Hi-C to map the 3D genome architecture at high-resolution. This method is very powerful identifying true target genes of distal enhancers or GWAS SNPs, leading to the identifications of several new cancer risk genes. We are using multiple cutting-edge genetic and genomic technologies to understand the regulatory functions of non-coding GWAS SNPs and the roles of their target genes in breast cancer.
