VeloSano Case CCC FAQs

FAQs:

Q: Where does the money really go?

A: The 2014 and 2015 funds were distributed to investigators for both clinical and basic science, as will the 2016 proceeds.  All money raised by riders went directly to investigators – close to $8 million.

Q: I work at CWRU and/or Seidman.  Why would I want to support this?

A: The proceeds for 2015 had a broader scope and included Case CCC members from CWRU and Seidman, in addition to the Cleveland Clinic, as will the 2016 proceeds. Click here to view the awardees from CWRU and Seidman.  The goal of Velosano is to provide funding for research. The more participation by CWRU and Seidman members, the more cancer research at those sites will benefit.

Q: If I ride or raise funds, am I guaranteed to see the money directly?

A: The awards will be based on review of written proposal based on scientific merit and judged accordingly.  All Case CCC members who participate in the ride will be eligible to apply for funding.

Q. How do I sign up for the Case CCC team?

A: Go to the Case CCC team page on the VeloSano site and click Join Our Team

It will ask you to create an account, select your ride and pay your registration.  You will then be given your own webpage to support your ride and help with gaining donations.  You can customize this web page with your own language, including information on why you ride as well as pictures.

Q: Do I have to ride to participate?

A: No – we are looking for people to help with team fundraising for the riders, virtual riders (raise funds without riding), volunteers at the ride, people in cheering stations and the support stations along the route.  Contact Megan Kilbane (megan.kilbane@case.edu) with any questions or to volunteer.
