The Case Comprehensive Cancer Center Annual Scientific Retreat will be held July 9 (4:30-8:30 pm) and July 10 (7:45 am-7 pm). We will kick-off the retreat in late afternoon on Thursday, July 9 at the Wolstein Research Building with a keynote presentation from Crystal Mackall, MD, Head of Immunology Section and Chief of the Pediatric Oncology Branch at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Mackall leads a translational research program focused on developing new immune based therapies for childhood cancer.
A cocktail reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres will follow the keynote address, allowing you the chance to network with your colleagues.
The retreat will continue Friday, July 10 at Corporate College East and will cover several first-time and exciting topics by Cancer Center researchers, including Immunotherapy, Cancer Disparities, and Metabolism & Cancer. There will also be a session on Melanoma Research, an up-and-coming focus area for the Cancer Center. The newest session will focus on Cancer Center Pilot Award winners, highlighting some of the freshest and most exciting projects. Together, the program highlights some of the outstanding research conducted at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Finally, we will once again have poster presentations by students, postdocs and fellows. Poster judging will run concurrently with the cocktail reception. This is your chance to view the incredible research being conducted by the next generation of cancer researchers. Please encourage your trainees, fellows and students to submit an abstract.
Please plan to set aside the time to participate in this year's retreat. Register early, and we will see you there!
All students, fellows and postdocs are encouraged to participate in the poster session on Friday evening. It is always satisfying to witness the excitement of the next generation of cancer researchers. Plus, monetary prizes will be awarded!
Deadline to submit abstracts is Friday, June 26 at 5 pm. Visit the poster competition page for details.
