American Association for Cancer Research

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is accepting applications for the following opportunities:

  • The AACR Basic Cancer Research Fellowships are open to postdoctoral and clinical research fellows working at an academic, medical, or research institution who will be in the first, second, or third year of their postdoctoral training at the start of the grant term. The research proposed for funding may be in any area of basic cancer research. The fellowships provide one-year grants of $45,000 to support the salary and benefits of the fellow while working on mentored basic cancer research. A partial amount of the funds may be designated for non-personnel research expenses, such as equipment and research/laboratory supplies.

  • The AACR-Millennium Fellowship in Lymphoma Researchrepresents a joint effort to encourage and support a postdoctoral or clinical research fellow to conduct lymphoma-based research and to establish a successful career path in this field. The research proposed for funding may be basic, translational, clinical or epidemiological in nature and must have direct applicability and relevance to lymphoma.

  • The AACR-Millennium Fellowship in Prostate Cancer Research represents a joint effort to encourage and support a postdoctoral or clinical research fellow to conduct prostate cancer research and to establish a successful career path in this field. The research proposed for funding may be basic, translational, clinical or epidemiological in nature and must have direct applicability and relevance to prostate cancer.

So You Want To Do Comparative Effectiveness Research? The Nuts and Bolts of CER

Registration is open for So You Want To Do Comparative Effectiveness Research? The Nuts and Bolts of CER, to be held Friday, December 14 in the WRB Auditorium. This half-day symposium will help heighten the understanding of comparative effectiveness research (CER), identify strategies to evaluate competing treatments and highlight the various research design methods available to perform CER. The course will be taught at an introductory level and is designed to provide resources for investigators to pursue future research projects. There is $25 registration fee, though this fee is waived for trainees, scholars, and K awardees.
