City Club Event Follow-up
As you know, last week the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center was featured in a forum discussion at the City Club of Cleveland Forum. Myself, Brian Bolwell, Ruth Keri and Neal Meropol highlighted the collaborative research efforts of the Cancer Center and attracted a packed house with over 200 people in attendance. The panel discussion was streamed live on the City Club website and also rebroadcast on WCPN radio and WVIZ TV. The forum was also made available to NPR affiliates nationally for rebroadcasting, and our message reached an audience of approximately 45,000 nationwide including NPR, web streaming and YouTube.
The event, The Annual Craig and Spangenberg Memorial Forum, was made possible by a special memorial gift from the law firm Spangenberg, Shibley & Liber where our Cancer Council Chair Peter Weinberger acts as the managing partner.
Video of the discussion, which was led by WCPN health reporter Sarah Tribble, is available on the City Club of Cleveland YouTube Channel. I encourage you to watch the video and share it with your networks.
Smoking Cessation Op-Ed
Following up on our City Club forum, Terry Allan and I are promoting the cigarette tax issue. While I would like to see support for cancer research as in most states, the greater good is smoking cessation.
